Stand and Fall Exhibition Postcard

A six weeks research project to create an installation art.

The work will consist of hundreds of house shaped units. Each unit consists of two parts; front

and base part. The front part can turns into the base and the base can tunr into the forefront, vice

    versa.

According to the title of this work, Stand and Fall, the visual image on the planes of each unit

creates an optical illusion. The surface of both front and base parts are illustrated witht the same

character, house shaped, with dark colour but in different angles.

As a consequence, seeing only the illustrated part, all the house shaped units seems to be falling

down towards the floor, creates a false idea of the collapsed houses. While the forefront parts

illustrates an idea of the moutain range. Furthermore, the interchangeble function with each other

between the base and forefront of each unit also suggests the title of this installation.

In the end of this project, an interactive installation is created inside of the container. Viewer is

invited to touch, move, and change the piece. The more viewers interact directly with the work,

the more new forms of installation are created. During the exhibition period, viewers are invited to

revisit the piece as the work is constantly changing.
