ท้องถิ่นนิยม ๒๕๖๒ ดิจิตอล ปริ้นท์ ขนาด: ท้องถิ่นนิยมหมายเลข ๑ (สถานีเรดาร์) กว้าง ๗๘.๒ x ยาว ๑๑๙ ซม. ท้องถิ่นนิยมหมายเลข ๓ (อุโมงค์) กว้าง ๘๓.๕ x ยาว ๑๑๙ ซม. ท้องถิ่นนิยมหมายเลข ๕ (อาคารปฏิบัติการ) กว้าง ๘๔.๑ x ยาว ๑๑๘ ซม. ท้องถิ่นนิยมหมายเลข ๙ (อาคารปฏิบัติการ) กว้าง ๗๘ x ยาว ๑๑๙ ซม.
Concept: This photographic series is created using different types of printers at several photocopy and printing shops in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Colored distortion and blurry vision are normally appear on the images through the printing process from these photocopy machines, which is commonly disapproved by artists and professional photographers. On the contrary, the negative effects from the printing process are being used as part of the creative process on creating images in this series of work.
Firstly, the photographs of a tunnel, an operation building and a radar area at the Ramasun Station (a former US military base in Udon Thani in 1964 - Vietnam War) are being enlarged and printed out at a printing shop in Chiang Mai. Secondly, the digital prints are being rephotographed, and then printed out in larger paper size in another printing shop in different location. The process of rephotographing, printing, enlarging and reducing the size is repeated over and over again. Finally, the images are pixelated and blurred, the colors are misrepresentative and the perspective in the pictures are transformed into color planes.
Since the prints at the exhibition room are exposed to the direct sunlight, rain and guano; the images are faded and integrated with the surroundings as time passes.
การสร้างผลงานภาพถ่าย โดยเครื่องปริ้นเตอร์หลากยี่ห้อหลายรุ่น จากร้านถ่ายเอกสารในพื้นที่ต่างๆของตัวเมืองจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ความผิดเพี้ยนของสีและความไม่คมชัดของภาพ ที่เกิดจากกระบวนการพิมพ์ผ่านเครื่องปริ้นเตอร์ อาจเป็นสิ่งที่ไม่พึงประสงค์สำหรับศิลปินและช่างภาพมืออาชีพ แต่ความไม่สมบูรณ์แบบของภาพที่ได้จากเครื่องปริ้นเตอร์ กลับกลายเป็นเครื่องมือในการสร้างภาพผลงานชุดนี้
ภาพถ่ายอุโมงค์ทางเดินใต้ดิน อาคารปฏิบัติการ และสถานีเรดาร์ในค่ายรามสูร (ค่ายทหารจีไอในช่วงสงครามเวียดนาม) ได้ถูกพิมพ์ออกมาบนกระดาษที่มีขนาดใหญ่กว่าขนาดไฟล์ตั้งต้น ในร้านถ่ายเอกสารร้านหนึ่ง จากนั้นบันทึกภาพที่พิมพ์ออกมา และพิมพ์ในกระดาษที่มีขนาดเล็กกว่าไฟล์ตั้งต้น ในร้านถ่ายเอกสารอีกร้านหนึ่ง การบันทึกภาพกระดาษที่พิมพ์ออกมา ขยายและย่อภาพซ้ำไปซ้ำมา ครั้งแล้วครั้งเล่า ผ่านเครื่องถ่ายเอกสารหลากหลายรุ่น ทำให้ความละเอียดของภาพลดลง สีผิดเพี้ยนไป ทัศนียภาพภายในภาพถูกลดทอนเหลือเพียงระนาบสี
ผลงานติดตั้งตรงฝาผนังด้านที่มีแสงแดดส่องลงมาที่รูปภาพโดยตรง จึงทำให้ภาพมีสีสันที่ซีดลงเมื่อเวลาผ่านไป อีกทั้งละอองฝน และของเสียจากนกและค้างคาว ทำให้ภาพมีสีสันและลวดลายที่กลมกลืนกันไปกับฝาผนัง ผลงานจึงค่อยๆกลืนหายหรือเลือนหายไปกับบรรยากาศต่างๆภายในห้องจัดแสดง
